Acquired by Universal Pictures back in 2010, the feature film version of Ricardo de Montreuil's short film The Raven appears to have found its lead. Deadline is reporting that The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth is in talks to play the lead, Chris Black (a part formerly rumored for producer Mark Wahlberg).De Montreuil will direct the sci-fi thriller from a script by Justin Marks. The story follows the protagonist, Black, who winds up coming into possession of a power that could reshape society and that has caused those in control to hunt him down with extreme prejudice.
Hemsworth will soon reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He will also star opposite Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman in the upcoming thriller Paranoia.
Steve Levinson will also produce with Nick Osborne, Trevor Engelson and Oly Obst executive producing.
